Several people have posted recently, saying that it is difficult to find anything much to write about. I find the same, but that is linked to my inability to go anywhere, not being able to drive, or do very much.
What does one write about?
Well, I had a CT scan this week. It's an odd sensation having dye injected and feeling the warmth running through your body. I kept my eyes firmly shut, except for the odd peek at the heart monitor which went up and down according to my anxiety levels.
This week a very nice open air tea room nearby is opening, and I'm hoping to go with a friend for a cup of tea, and maybe a cake!
In the garden my Delphiniums are growing tall and strong. I wish I could remember where I originally bought them as they have been the best I ever had.
There's a pretty red Sparaxis brightening the garden.
Roses are beginnng to bloom. I wonder if their very healthy leaves are due to the lack of pollution last year. The scent of these Golden Gate roses permeates the whole room.

I hope that CT scan brings reassuring results. You must be sheltered as you have roses so early, I just have a few buds coming and you're right - the leaves are particularly healthy,shiny and lush -living less than 2 miles from the airport we probably get a lot of air pollution pre-covid but not just now. Another benefit of the lack of airport activity is the birds - the singing in the mornings is not short of an orchestra! and all day, and into the evening - it's something I am aware of all the time and can never have too much of. I know you like blue a lot - I imagine a wedgewood blue and some pretty royal and blue curtains - will be interested to see your colour scheme/mood board.
Your roses are beautiful ... with us the leaves are starting to grow and the peonies have not yet blossomed. I would also like to have tea in the tea room with my girlfriend ... from next week there should be some relaxation ... let's keep our fingers crossed. Have fun in the garden and in the tea room. I am a ranger right now and the lilacs bloom dark and full in my garden.

A visit to an open air tea room sounds lovely! A bedroom refresh also sounds lovely . . . I love house-y things! Yes, please do give us a peek somewhere along the line. As always, there are beautiful things in your garden! Praying that the Lord gives you peace as you wait for your surgery.
I enjoy hearing about your flowers. I must find that sort of support wire for my Delphinium. I had 3, all white ones. Only one came up this year but it is huge. I've tried to tie it up but I'm not sure if it's enough to keep it erect when it rains. Time will tell. The yellow Rose is gorgeous. I haven't heard of Sparaxis but it sure is eye catching.

I love the idea of a local open air tea room particularly when cake is involved. Hoping all is well and the the scan results are what you hope for.

Barbara dear, glad to hear the CT scan was done and hoping the results are good and you can move along with your surgery IF still required - that way life will be easier and you won't be restricted as much. You are in our prayers and thoughts daily.

Your flowers are lovely - and getting the bedroom redecorated and doing a makeover in blue and white will be a real pleasure I know. Looking forward to you sharing later. I'm doing more of those colors - and I love Chinoiserie blue/white china which is why I bought new lamps in that style.

I do hope you get to go to the tea room and enjoy a cup and cake with your friend. It sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon away from home. We all need a few outings. Your flowers are beautiful and that stand you have to help your Delphiniums grow is marvelous.
I've been thinking about painting my bedroom room this year too. Thinking along the lines of robin egg blue, but maybe not until Fall . . . I have lots to keep me busy this time of the year, gardening and then canning. That is if I can find canning lids. Are you having a shortage of them over there? I have a few in the cupboard that are a few years old so will use what I have until they are gone.

I'm glad the CT scan is over and done with. Decorating your bedroom is a fun project that will keep your mind focused on something else, and of course, blue and white just can't be matched. Tea and cake, flowers in the garden - your small moments are delightful.
I have had that dye before, it is a really weird sensation. I hope you will get to go to the tea room. It sounds like a nice afternoon out for a change. Your flowers are all gorgeous! Have a lovely week. :)
What lovely flowers. Delphiniums are my favourite of the perennial flowers and I was devastated when mine died off. I haven't been able to find another one either.

For not having much to say, you've shared a delightful post, Barbara. You are queen at finding those small moments and delighting in them. :) I've enjoyed catching a glimpse of your garden, hearing about your plans for a new bedroom look (blue and white is my delight), and possible tea out with a friend at long last - oh do have cake to celebrate. The sparaxis is lovely. My husband and my sister can no longer drive, so I do sympathize. We stay close to home but do occasionally enjoy a lite lunch out. We also enjoy the library and a park beside a lake when it is cool. Thank you for sharing your sweet blooms with us. Mildred
