Inspired by Lorrie's lovely post on her Autumn-y garden, I thought I would go and see if there was anything in mine worth photographing. The dry weather has finished off so many perennials. Roses are almost over, and the only things actually producing are apples, tomatoes and pears. Also blackberries on my 'Tame' plant. Not a wild one, not huge, it has produced over a pound so far.
I think these are called Asian pears. They are round rather than the normal pear shape. I have stewed them and they are very sweet, but I think people also use them in making chutney.
Apples are falling over the lawn every day. They are Bramleys but the tree is old now and many are diseased. I have cut lots up and made Apple jelly, or stewed what I can. I do enjoy having my own produce!
There's a sudden burst of colour from this late flowering Clematis. I wish I could recall her name.
The lovely mop head Hydrangeas are turning from a beautiful blue to this interesting purply colour. The heads have been huge this year.
At the beginning of the season I was given a rather random set of plants and simply put them all into one big plantpot. They have gone on and on, bringing a lovely burst of colour just outside my kitchen door.
And the Tomatoes are behaving beautifully!

How nice to see what's happening in your Autumn garden. Your Clematis is lovely and I especially like the random flowers blooming in one pot.
Ive not heard of Asian pear, the fruit looks nice. Your random pot by the door is lovely. My gladioli are flowering but don't last long in this heatwave. I'm picking slip berries at the weekend, they are out much too early. Betty

I love the way mop head hydrangeas change colour
I have asters and zinnias in bloom, I prefer them for later summer colour.
Your garden is very productive and colourful. Mine is entering it's 'green' period... although I have geraniums (it still doesn't seem right to call them pelargoniums) doing their bit.
I wish we had fruit trees!! We have clay mixed soil and they just refuse to grow!

How nice that you find ways to use the fruit that grows in your garden. We are expecting near 100 degrees today and our perennials should be well toasted. :)
Beautiful flowers still blooming♥ And the little crop of tomatoes look yummy! It's still very hot here too, even with lots of watering the plants are showing the heat.

So nice to see your flower/fruit update. It is the harvest season indeed, and time to put up, and can the fruit and veggies! My garden is doing well, we still have a couple more weeks of summer here hopefully and then canning will begin in earnest. Many blessings to you!
That is a very joyful group of random plants in a pot and something to make you smile everyday. Still lots to see in your garden and the hydrangea and clematis are beautiful too.
