Things are not working quite as I would like them to.
My greenhouse should work in steps, as one thing is ready to go out so another can come in.
There's a bit of a backlog, a kind of plant queue at the minute.
It's not warm enough for the many geraniums to go out, so they are taking up quite a lot of space.
When they are out, the 12 tomato plants that are growing, fast, in my Conservatory, can come in.
When it's warm enough for the Dahlias, and the beans and peas to go out there will be space for the tiny new annual seedlings to have bigger pots.
It's a bit like supermarket queuing , waiting for the ones in front, but thankfully not having to keep social distancing.
The Clematis Montana has suddenly scrambled
over everything that it can reach, including the shed.
It's a pretty pale pink and is a joy every year.
Maybe its a bit over the top, but I can't bear to cut it back!

I think it is cooler than normal here on the west coast of Canada too. I'm not sure that the ground is warm enough to plant things out. I doubt it.
Your Clematis Montana is gorgeous. Minne is full of buds but no blooms yet. Every Spring I wait for it to show its beauty.
Oh my your clematis is glorious! I have three. One is just finishing up blooming & my second is at it's peak. My third blooms in June. None of mine are as huge as yours is.

Oh my...look at that amazing clematis. You also have impressive starts in your green house. Hope you can get them in the ground, soon.
Your clemantis is Stunning! Vines growing wild, without pruning know how to show off.

Don't be too harsh with that clematis - I cut mine right back and it is taking a long time to cover the oof of the shed again. Gardening is another of those things that teaches us that it is not what we want but what Nature wants that wins and maybe that is no bad thing!
I would never cut flowers back - your clematis is fabulous. I am so impressed that in that tiny space you have made use of every inch and have a greenhouse crammed with goodies, you have certainly inspired me to try and squeeze a bit into my conservatory! I notice you have a raised bed by the shed too (herbs?) and still room for flowers! well done.

I love that clematis in all its wild, beautiful glory! I understand what you mean about a plant backlog. I have seedlings ready for the garden but I'm not quite sure if I should put them out yet.

Everything looks fantastic Barbara! Like you, I can never cut back my climbing/vining plants - and yes they do take over, but in such a beautiful 'secret garden' way!
