Return!
It seems to have been an age since I have written anything, but here I am back again after a double dose of antibiotics. Thank you for the many kind comments wishing me well on my last post.
My husband has had two weeks in a very nice Nursing home to enable me to have a good rest, and sadly no visitors were allowed due to restrictions.
Life was just rest and more rest. But I did manage two trips out with a close friend. One was to Trelissick, our NT garden, where we enjoyed a coffee sitting outside. It was a lovely sunny day and there were not too many people around as we went early. To go to an NT place now you have to reserve a parking slot the day before.
About a mile away from our house is a sweet little tea room nestling in a tree filled garden.
This is Linden Hey. Although there is an indoor room, this is not being used, and a large marquee has been erected in the garden, with tables socially distanced.
It was again a sunny morning when I went with a friend, and we sat at a table and chatted over coffee and a delicious home made scone.
My husband came home yesterday and is happy to be back in a 'normal' routine.
It seems as though we are back to Square One as far as the Virus is concerned and it is frightening to see the rise in the number of cases.
All we can do is be a sensible as possible and do everything to protect ourselves and our families. We pray for our nation , pray that people might realise the seriousness of this and try to live to the Government guidelines.
It's good to be back!

I have been thinking of you and praying!! Rest is vital! I am so glad for the 2 outings you had! Lots of love and prayers ❤
Barbara, I'm so glad you are better. An encouraging thing here, with the virus, is that while many people have tested positive (and they say half of the positives are false) our hospitalizations are quite low and deaths are extremely low. I hope it is the same for you in the UK!
Your two outings sound wonderful. That looks like a lovely place to have tea outdoors!
Welcome back. Glad you are better and that your husband could return home. How nice to be able to get out and enjoy those outings!
So nice to hear you had a good rest and managed to get out for coffee with a friend. I look forward to the day this virus is gone, will it ever happen? {{sigh}}
It's good to hear that you're on the mend and even were able to get out for coffee with some friends. I'm sure your husband is very happy to be home and have you well again. Take care.
So happy to hear that you have improved and have enjoyed a little rest and relaxation, and now that your have been reunited with your husband . . . all gifts!!
Great news that you are rested and hubby is home. I am so glad you are on the mend. Pleased too that, as Summer comes to a close, you have had the chance to enjoy some company and have a change of scenery in the sunshine too. Betty x
Good to see you back, Barbara and hope that your enforced rest plus ABs have re-charged your batteries. The outings sound good, a real treat to get out and about with a friend before the weather changed. Yes, it's rather shocking to hear the latest on the pandemic, although I find it frustrating to hear all the statistics as if they are fact, when they are 'might' and 'maybe' and 'if' and 'potentially'. Grrrrr! I think this weekend will be a crucial test for those who persist in flouting the rules and a possible sad result for those of us at risk.
So nice to see you here again. I hope that means you are all better, at least well on your way now. I'm glad you had a chance for a real rest to recovery. I'm sure your hubby is happy to be home again with you, as are you.
You mentioned on my blog post this morning that your Peace Rose is still blooming, but paler now. This last blossom I picked last evening was deeper yellow than through the summer. Perhaps it doesn't mind it a wee bit cooler? // Happily they are promising no frosts for the next couple of weeks, which will be a delight to have flowers till into October.
I wish you a pleasant weekend ahead. Heart hugs, Brenda xox
I'm glad to see you back here again, Barbara. I hope that your rest did you much good. The numbers on the pandemic are indeed shocking, but it seems fewer people are dying, at least here. In school we are very careful - there is much sanitizing and no mingling of classes. It feels very odd.
I'm thankful you are feeling much better and are back blogging again. School has started up here again and unfortunately, there are already new cases popping up among the students. I'm afraid that we are in this for the long haul.
I am glad that you had a little get away. I've heard on the news here that England is suffering more outbreaks. When will this ever end? Here in this part of the States, the college students are out of control and getting sick. I don't worry so much about my grandchildren and daughters or my husband and I. We are careful. I don't go out much. I've always done social distancing. I love your comments on the dollhouse blog. I've left you a reply over there. Do stay well. Hugs.
I am very happy that you managed to get a well deserved rest and a bit of a visit with friends.
We are having a bit of an uptick in cases here as well (by here I mean Canada as a whole). Some provinces have moved back to shutting things down completely and mandating masks be worn in all enclosed spaces. So far nothing like that has happened in my province or in the province our oldest son lives in. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we stay relatively virus free in this corner of the province and that both of our sons can make it home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
God bless.
Welcome back! I'm so glad you rested so much.
