We seem to have stepped from one year to another with little celebration. I think here in the UK most people aren't concerned with celebrating, more with protecting themselves, particularly against the virulent new strain of the virus..
Poor little Cornwall has been whisked from the lowest Tier 1 up to Tier 3. There have been murmurings about '''should have closed the border''. We do seem to have had a recent influx of Tier 4 people escaping to the West, which hasn't done our county any good.
I find it really hard to feel enthusiastic.
But we must all go on, and go on with hope for improvement, hope for a return to a time when we could pop in to a friend or neighbour, invite family for a meal, stop and chat to people (without a mask).
A future filled with hope.
A verse that I have over the years found so meaningful.....
Sending my wishes and prayers for a peaceful New Year.

I too love that verse... Hope is definitely very important right now
Happy New Year, Barbara to you! It is comforting to know that God already knows what each day will bring. I hope that your Tiers return to normal. Thank you so much for your beautiful Christmas card! xo
Wonderful verse. Hoping for a Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! One of my favorite verses.
Wishing you health and happiness this coming year.
Wonderful verse from Jeremiah.
I have always loved that verse from Jeremiah. I hope you had a wonderful New Years.
God bless.
I’m not real enthusiastic about how people are treating Covid either, I’m in the US and people are so nonchalant about it while the hospitals are so full, patients are in the gift shops, hallways and conference rooms.
Our vaccine rollout is not going smoothly either.
I’m ready for schools to be safely open and for us to get our lives back without fear of this horrible virus.
Even still, we will carry on and continue to be a careful as possible and look forward to better days.
This verse has often comforted and encouraged me. Wishing you both a peaceful and hope-filled new year.
The same to you, dear Barbara. A strange start to a new year, but we keep our spirits up!
Hugs and warm New Year's wishes for you and your family.
Love Carolien
Many well wishes for good health, happiness, and safety. Things are able to get better from within our hearts sharing, like the verse you posted. Thank you, those words lift my spirits.
Happy New Year, anyway, Barbara! There's no-one like Jesus - he is our Rock xx
Thank you for reminding us of God's plan. Sometimes it it hard to think that this is all part of it. Here in the States, each state has it own rules and even some cities have yet another set. I think Colorado was RED which probably was Tier 3, but we may be progressing toward orange. Don't know what that means; we keep close to home and stay out of the stores as much as possible. We missed Christmas with our oldest daughter and her family and tomorrow our grandson will be 18 and we won't be allowed to celebrate with him. Makes me sad, but we have to do what is right. I'm really not too keen on the New Year either with a new President and administration. We never know what changes are coming. It seems that as one administration leaves office the new one sets about changing all the things that the previous one made both the good and the awful. So here we go again on another roller coaster ride. I think I'll stick my head the sand. Stay well, dear friend and look for those joyous moments in life and savor them. Happy New Year.
Happy new year to you, wishing you everything you wish for yourself with every blessing.
That is a wonderful verse, Barbara, and one to remember when things look bleak, as they do now in so many ways. I, too, wish that people would behave. There are heads rolling in the political sphere here as it's been discovered that politicians have taken vacations in sunnier climes while exhorting the rest of us to stay home. Such hypocrisy! Makes me sad. Meanwhile, we will do what we can to enrich our everyday lives. Happy New Year!
The new strain of virus is now in the US, how I wish all of it would go away. Until then, staying in and trying to stay well. Happy New Year.
Yes, "my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness" ❤️
