Storm Eunice has battered the South West. We are on Red Alert.
Warnings have gone out from local Councils, from Western Power and from the Police.
Stay at Home.
The wind howled around last night. This morning it is deceptively sunny, but when I went into the garden I was almost bowled over by the strength of the gale.
The county has been hit by 100 miles an hour gales.
Power is out in many areas. Buses and trains have been cancelled. Deliveries of Mail, and Refuse collections are cancelled.
Children are staying at home due to many schools closing.
It's definitely a day to be indoors, with the hungry making smell of a warming casserole in the oven.

We've been hearing the news. Oh my, gales of 100 miles an hour. I feel sad, too, when beautiful old trees fall in these storms. How comforting for delicious smells coming from the kitchen on such a day. Holding you and Malcolm in my heart, Barbara! xo
Please do all to stay safe. I think it's very bad in Devon for my family there. Haven't heard from them today.

Our storm forecast for here last night never materialized - some sun this morning and 71F!!!! Cooling off again next week.

We've been seeing footage of the devastation Storm Eunice has caused. So scary. I hope your power stays on and that you will be safe.
hope you were safe, my brother walked three miles from Truro the morning of the storm as his car was in for repairs, over here near Gatwick planes couldn't land and the area took a battering but the woods sheltered our little house and we stayed inside. The cat, however, loved it and ran round the garden at intervals all day chasing leaves and paper that had blown in!

The same here. 4 People died when being hit by a tree, so sad.
