Captain Tom's final lap




Just a quick add-on to the last post.
Captain Tom finished his 100 laps of the garden today.
He has raised more than £13 million pounds.
Thirteen million!
The soldiers of the Yorkshire regiment were there to cheer him into the final lap.

Wonderful and I hope he went in for a cup of tea and a slice of cake when he'd reached his target distance. He might decide to keep going though mightn't he? I hope I might be as brave and determined when I am in my 90s although I think it is very unlikely.

Little patches of colour

  Despite the drought and the effect it has had on gardens, there is still some colour around. I have a dry brownish lawn but in the flower ...
