At first sight I thought it was just an envelope.
But then I turned it over.
Could you resist a catalogue in this lovely envelope?! Sarah Raven is very clever with her marketing ideas. I'm settling down with the two catalogues, seeds and plantlets, and my beautiful new notebook sent by a dear Canadian blog friend.
I do have to restrain myself. I look at a page of Dahlias and want every single one!
In the meantime I treated myself to a tiny bunch of Anemones at the Farm shop today. As the flowers open they remind me of little jewels of amethyst and ruby. Such a joy.
I've started sewing again, having put it aside for a while. Firstly I am sewing on binding on the little quilt made from Apple Butter fabric. I saw the design on the lovely Helen Philipps blog, and made my own version.
Then I am starting a bigger quilt top, using pale romantic colours. I was fortunate to buy a pack of Lecien Durham fabric from a seller in USA, but sadly she has not got any more. I can't find it in England anywhere, so may have to improvise with other similar fabrics......but I like the Lecien best!
(I should maybe mention that although I refer to Sarah Raven often, I am in no way affiliated with her. I'm sure she doesnt even know that I write about her!)

Gardening catalogues are so enticing. It is difficult not to order everything that one sees looking lovely in irresistible full colour.
Dahlias are indeed wonderful. As with many plants, they have gone in and out of fashion over the years, but they are definitely in the ascendancy these days as one looks for late summer colour.
Your fabrics are dreamy, we can well see how you love them and each one complements the others perfectly.
I love the soft pink fabrics you've chosen. I hope you're able to find some others in similar tones so you can complete a full sized quilt top. I wonder if you might have any luck with Etsy.

Gardening catalogues cheer the gardener in the depths of winter. So inspiring. Your quilting projects are so pretty - just the fabrics I love with those delicate prints and florals.

Looking at catalogues and planning your garden is a very important season in the garden. I used to spent days after Christmas doing just that. Thank for writing about your experience of down sizing on my blog, I must admit it does scare me a bit, but I have every confidence we'll cope.
