My reading is, at the moment, eclectic to say the least.
I have The Repair Shop which I read to my husband. He loves the programme and the book's chapters tell the stories behind many of the items brought in for repair.
The Boy, Mole, Fox and Horse was given to me as a Christmas present. I'd heard a lot about it and was looking forward to reading it. It is certainly written with a lot of charm. I found some of the illustrations to be a little similar to the original Ernest Shepard's Winnnie the Pooh books. I haven't yet made my mind up about the book itself.
Meeting God in quiet places is a delightful, calming book. A chapter each night is very settling.
Then we come onto the important reading....my seed and plant catalogues! Since the photo I have received another three or four catalogues from different firms. They are such a joy to look at with photos of huge swathes of beautifully coloured plants.....something I have yet to achieve in my garden.
Having seeds is not the same as getting out there and planting them, I find. I'm a procrastinator....it's too cold. I've got too much to do.....etc. But eventually I get to it, and enjoy creating the beginnings of my Summer garden.
This visitor has been pottering round the garden for a few days now. I need to discourage my husband from murmuring 'It would make a very tasty casserole'!
I look forward to the time when the branches aren't denuded, when buds are appearing and climbers racing upwards. Soon.....

Your books look interesting. I like the Repair Shop too. I went to Wilko today and bought a lot of lettuce seeds for planting in trays on my garden table and some netting as last year the butterflies got them. I hope you can get in the garden soon and enjoy some sunshine.
I have Meeting God in Quiet Places and Meeting God in Holy Places. When we traveled to England in 2004 with our daughter we hunted down the little town where the author lived while in England. So quaint and lovely. The Repair Shop is a fun show to watch. Happy Sunday to you!

As a kid, it was always very special to see one. Alas, I didn't know my father's keen interest was also via dinner. :)
I love the Repair Shop. I have yet to read the Charlie Mackesy book. I DO have some of those seeds, because (kindness of my SIL) I now have a Gardeners World subscription.
A great selection of reading material! I don't get very many seed catalogues, but I the ones I do get are so enjoyable to peruse.
What a delightful assortment of books! And equally delightful are seed catalogs. I tend to sow seeds too early in Spring and they rot. I'm determined to wait for warm weather this year.
I just purchased The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse to give as a gift to a special granddaughter, Jasmin. I think it will be perfect for her, and hopefully a book she'll always keep and enjoy. There was story about Charlie Mackesy, a very interesting man, in Country Living so I tore it out and put it inside the book.
That's a beautiful bird but please tell dear M it will not be served on a platter or in a casserole dish!
Not familiar with the 'The Repair Shop' program/book - perhaps not available over here - does sound interesting though.
As for gardening - not even thinking about that yet - spring won't be arriving here for some time and I'm enjoying the winter garden with nothing requiring attention!

Oh Barbara, I LOVE your reading choices! And I must admit I am a little addicted to the Repair Shop on t.v. I don't watch much programmes but recently I discovered the Repair Shop and I am hooked!

I enjoy the Gardeners World magazine and have a subscription. It is always an interesting read and I love the free seeds each year. I'm looking forward to the new season of growing and planting.
