We all bounce ideas off each other, and until I read Angela's (Tracing Rainbows) post today, I had not realised that it was World Stationery Day.
In fact it is National Stationery week up till May 1st.
Like Angela, I prefer to write proper letters, with a pen, on pretty paper or attractive cards. I know that email saves hours of time, but it just isn't the same.
I'm throwing out an idea here.
Some years ago I organised a 'real letter' swap, and I believe that some of the people who joined it are still in touch with their penpal.
What would you think of a 'Stationery Swap'?
Bear in mind this is only an idea.
But would it be fun to send, or receive some pretty notecards, or writing paper or a little journal to or from a friend?
Let me know what you think, and if you would be interested in taking part, and I will gather names together.
This isn't meant to be a big gift swap, just a pretty set of cards, writing paper, or something similar. Of course there is nothing to stop you enclosing something small, such as a pen, but it isn't obligatory.

I don't think this one is for me but I'm one of the people who was in your real letter swap and my pen friend and I still exchange letters - so thank you for that one! We exchange e mails as well but there is something very satisfying about sending and receiving a proper letter.
I'm always jealous when I hear of the various swaps you participate in. I would love to be included!
I would as I love swaps, but my partner didn't get her 2 letters from me on the last swap so am thinking I should sit this one out as I don't know what went wrong.
This sounds like good fun! You always come up with so nice ideas. Count me in, please if there is an uneven number. Because right now, my to-do list is overgrowing with baby quilt, house painting, garden duties, party preparations, UK trips to plan etc etc.

Sweet friend, I would love to be apart of this - it sounds like a wonderful idea! I participated in yout last letter swap and for quite a while I was in touch with Carol, but sadly I have not heard from her...I do hope she is okay.

I didn't know there was such a day. While it is a great idea, I'm going to pass this year. Things fall through my brain regularly (I've been told that is a grief symptom) and I would hate to forget. xoxo
I think it would be great fun to do this! I LOVE note cards. I send a lot of cards through the mail...I agree with you totally...I LOVE getting real mail that I can hold in my hand from a dear friend far away. It is such a blessing, and while emails are wonderful, you are right, they just aren't quite the same. So, YES, I would surely be interested in joining in with you should you have a swap! I so agree with you, there is nothing sweeter than a hand written note or letter both given and received.
I did not even know that there was a National D=Stationary week.
I would love to participate with you, but I must say that it will depend on the time you have it as I will be traveling in a couple of weeks.

I will have to pass on this dear as I'm swamped with happenings in the family circle and we are getting ready to leave for Ireland - will be gone 'til early June. Know it will be fun for those lovely ladies who participate - and have to admit I love anything revolving around paper goods and writing!
