I drove down the local Bypass, a dual-carriageway, this morning.
Normally it's not a specially beautiful road, but today I was thrilled to see that.........
Wild primroses were carpeting the banks, some bravely clinging onto the kerbs, some shyly peeping out from under cover of the shrubs higher up the bank.
There were pink clumps as well as the usual creamy yellow.
It only takes minutes to traverse that road, but what pleasure there was today to see these lovely wild flowers.
Being sensible, I didnt stop to photograph them, so have to give you some stock photos.
It's a busy road and I wondered if everyone was seeing them and enjoying them as I did or whether they were just fixated on driving.
Moments of beauty, and so appreciated on my drive.

Lovely to see them isn't it? There's a bank at a roundabout near here on the A30 which is currently covered with prrimroses and the ones in my garden on a bank alongside the drive are on the way too though not yet at their best. My favourite flowers I think and am always reminded of childhood school when we used to pick them to be sent to London for "the poor people living in the city"!!
I love when highways are planted with flowering plants! These are lovely, and I am sure it was such a pleasure to see them!
Primroses are a beautiful flower that makes spring feel closer.
They are lovely!
oh that is exciting! Spring is coming! and the beauty of flowers is so reviving!
Oh I love primroses!
I love Primroses and wasn't aware that they grew wild anywhere. A large patch of them must be a wonderful sight.
Childhood memories flooding back - picking primroses on the banks of a nearby apple orchard - tying bunches to a stick to carry home - placing in little vases along with their pretty crinkled leaves and some deep purple violets - mother loving them. Those definitely were the best of days - and sadly they are gone forever!
Happy almost spring dear friend.

how lovely, we rarely see them here, not wild ones anyway.
What a delight that must have been! Funny that I never think of primroses growing wild anywhere. How wonderful! I guess every plant must grow wild somewhere or we would never have been able to domesticate them. Beautiful lupines grow wild in the fields and ditches near Lake Superior, but I can't seem to grow them at all. Happy full moon night.
A lovely sight. No wild primroses here, but they are all over the garden centres and in pots on porches. I have a pot of my own. So pretty and bright.
How pretty! Azaleas in our town in SC are bursting forth in bloom..always a beautiful site to behold..
For some reason my comment published as anonymous..sorry!
What a treat to see beauties like these popping up without any effort from us!
